Data flow
Field controllers feed Kepware Server, the data hub of your architecture; OPC Router distributes the data to MES, ERP and cloud applications in both directions. Kepware Server also connects directly to many clients.
Field devices speak dozens of different protocols. Kepware Server normalizes them once; OPC Router moves the data where the business needs it and brings the answer back to the machine. Pick a scenario to follow its path and protocols.
Kepware Server reads the PLC through its native driver and publishes the tags as an OPC UA server. The MES connects as an OPC UA client, with no custom code between the controller and the application.
OPC Router reads values from Kepware Server and writes them to SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL when a trigger fires: a changed value, the end of a cycle, a schedule. Mapping and conditions are modelled visually.
Kepware's IoT Gateway publishes selected tags over MQTT, Sparkplug B or REST to cloud and analytics platforms, including Azure IoT Hub. IT teams get structured data without opening the control network.
Data also flows the other way: SAP or the MES sends a production order or recipe, OPC Router validates it and Kepware Server writes it to the controller. Confirmation travels back along the same path.
